Hazel Road

Our Hazel Road Site is situated just off Bensham Bank, Gateshead. Our youngest children are based at this site, it serves Key Stage One children and Lower Key Stage Two (Reception-Year 4). At Hazel Road, there is a Key Stage One Nurture Base, a Sensory Integration room, therapeutic ‘Cosy Room’ and Sensory Space.

The children are welcomed into school from either their taxi or school transport and take part in the Daily Mile and exercise on the yard before entering school for ‘Wake Up Shake Up’, morning song and breakfast. Lessons start at 9.15am.

For children who have missed out on key parts of their early years curriculum, we deliver a continuous provision style offer in our Key Stage One class where there is enclosed access to an outdoor learning area.

All children access Forest School at Eslington and there is an accessible area for this at each school site. Hazel Road has an outdoor gym, fixed play equipment on the playground and an extensive playing field.
