Rose Street

Our Rose Street Road Site is situated near the Redheugh Bridge, Rose Street, Gateshead. Our oldest children are based at this site- it serves years 4, 5 and 6, Upper Key Stage Two children. There is a Key Stage Two Nurture Base at Rose Street based in the bungalow adjacent to the main school building.

A very small number of children access Nurture from their class either each morning or afternoon where they also have access to a Sensory Integration Space. There are several Sensory spaces within the main building as well as a therapeutic room. We have a wooded area at the top of our grounds which is used for Forest School.

The children are welcomed into school from their taxi or school transport and take part in the Daily Mile and exercise on the grass area outside of their classrooms, before entering school for morning song and breakfast. Lessons start at 9.10am.

Children who join us during year 4, 5 or 6 often start in Class 8. This is our Intensive Support classroom which offers our highest level of structure along with high staffing levels. This ensures that a more individualised SEMH support programme as well as intensive learning interventions can be offered to those children.

Rose Street shares a site with one of Gateshead’s Family Hubs as well as the BIG Local Health Hub. We are currently developing the outdoor areas at Rose Street to provide the pupils with better outdoor spaces. Rose Street has a large sports hall and meeting room.
