Special Educational Needs
Pupils attending Eslington Primary School have special educational needs (SEN) and have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our school supports children who have primarily Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
Many of our pupils are neurodivergent and have additional needs which may affect their learning such as speech and language difficulties, autism, Attention Hyperactivity Deficit Disorder (ADHD), dyslexia and/or dyspraxia.

SENDIASS
The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Services (SENDIASS) offers free and impartial information, advice and support for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This service is also offered directly to young people.
Under the Children & Families Act (2014), it is a legal requirement that all local authorities have a SENDIAS Service.
Gateshead SENDIAS Service is provided by Barnardo’s Disability and inclusion Support Service on behalf of Gateshead Council.
The service is free, impartial and confidential.
SENDIASS have developed resources providing information and advice for parents, carers, professionals and young people.
